3.2 Preferences. These technologies remember optional settings or preferences that are not necessary to operate the Website, such as user-interface or experience choices. If enhanced conversion or advanced matching functionality is enabled, we may also provide SHA-256 hashed e-mail addresses or telephone numbers as described in Section 5 below. Depending on applicable law, these activities may be considered a sale, sharing, cross-context behavioral advertising, or targeted advertising. Marketing technologies are active by default when the cookie banner is presented, but you may deactivate them through the preference center and apply that choice by selecting “Save choices”; they also remain disabled where an applicable opt-out preference signal or other legally required opt-out is in effect.

Some cookies or storage technologies are session-based and expire when you close your browser; others persist for a defined period or until removed. The duration depends on the purpose and provider. We retain cookie-derived Personal Information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Cookie Policy and our Privacy Policy. Where our consent-management tool displays a more specific duration for a technology, that information should control for purposes of your browser-level choice.

5.1 Base Advertising and Measurement Technologies. Advertising or analytics tags may transmit information such as IP address, device and browser information, page URLs, referring or ad-click information, and conversion events. Such information is not necessarily anonymous or de-identified merely because it does not contain your name or e-mail address, and it may constitute Personal Information under applicable law.

5.2 Enhanced Conversions and Advanced Matching. If enabled and permitted by your applicable privacy choices, HomeQuotely may use features such as Google Ads enhanced conversions and Nextdoor advanced matching. These features may use first-party contact information collected when you submit a form, including e-mail address or telephone number. Before transmission, we may normalize and hash the identifier using SHA-256 or a comparable one-way cryptographic hashing method. The advertising platform may compare the hash to hashed identifiers associated with its users or accounts to match a conversion to an advertising interaction and support measurement, attribution, optimization, or bidding. Because the recipient may be able to match the hash to information it already possesses, the hashed identifier is not treated as anonymous or de-identified information for purposes of this Cookie Policy.

5.3 Separation from Communications Consent. Allowing or deactivating Marketing technologies is separate from any consent to receive telephone calls, text messages, or e-mails. Communications consent is governed by the specific disclosure or authorization presented in connection with the applicable request or communications program.

Some cookies or similar technologies may be provided or operated by third parties that provide analytics, advertising, communications, or other services to HomeQuotely. We currently use or anticipate using advertising measurement technologies from Google and Nextdoor. Those providers may process information as our service provider or processor for certain functions and may act independently for other functions, depending on the service and applicable contractual terms. Their privacy notices govern their independent processing. We may add, remove, or change providers as our technology and advertising practices evolve, and we will update our disclosures where required.

7.1 Cookie Banner and Preference Center. When the cookie banner is presented, Necessary, Preferences, Statistics, and Marketing technologies are active by default, subject to any applicable opt-out preference signal or other choice that we are required to honor by law. Necessary technologies are always active and cannot be disabled. You may deactivate Preferences, Statistics, or Marketing by toggling the applicable category off and selecting “Save choices,” or leave all categories active by selecting “Accept all.” You may later change your selection through the Cookie Policy or cookie preference control available on the Website.

7.2 Browser and Device Controls. Most browsers allow you to block, delete, or receive notifications about cookies. Browser controls may not affect local storage, pixels, server-side measurement, or other technologies in the same manner. Because preferences may be stored locally, you may need to make a selection separately on each browser or device.

7.3 Global Privacy Control and Universal Opt-Out Mechanisms. Where required by applicable law, we honor supported, user-enabled opt-out preference signals, including Global Privacy Control (“GPC”), as an opt-out of covered sale, sharing, or targeted advertising. When such a signal is recognized, the Website suppresses Marketing technologies and covered enhanced-matching transmissions for that browser or device. A legacy “Do Not Track” signal is not necessarily a legally recognized opt-out mechanism and may not be honored unless required by law.

7.4 Do Not Sell or Share. You may also exercise applicable opt-out rights through our Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page, including by submitting identifiers that you want suppressed from covered advertising-data matching.

We may use Necessary cookies or local storage to remember and document your privacy choices, including the date, time, browser/device context, and version of the consent interface or disclosures presented. These records may be retained as reasonably necessary to demonstrate compliance, honor preferences, and resolve disputes even after other non-essential technologies are disabled.

We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in our technology, providers, legal requirements, or practices. We will post the updated version on the Website and revise the “Last Updated” date above. Where required by law, we will provide additional notice or obtain a new choice before materially changing how optional technologies are used.
